Karakoram Range, Pakistan

This photo was taken in a two minute opening of opportunity in three days of storm. A small window in the clouds, sun and window aligning paths momentarily in their celestial trajectories, creating a beam of light on the Great Trango group across the valley.

The sunlight reveals the south and east wall of Great Trango Tower (6286m). The east wall is argued to be the most precipitous cliff in the world. Next to it, also bathed in morning light, is the incomparable obelisk known simply as Nameless Tower (6239m).
