Cordillera Blanca, Andes, Peru
I went to the Andes in 2016 to photograph a mountain - Alpamayo. It features a stunning aspect from all sides, due to it's prominence & unique shape. This photograph is from the southeast, taken in the morning light.
Alpamayo supposedly features one of the airiest summits in the world - you can just make out how small the actual summit is, from the ice blob visible at the very top. I was lucky to have low lying clouds in the foreground, in order to provide perspective & help to show scale. A classic shape of this rugged, tropical mountain range.
